There are nights when the silence feels unbearable

There are nights when the silence feels unbearable. Nights when the weight of missing you presses so heavily on my chest that I don’t know how to breathe. And so I step outside and look upward, desperate for some reminder that you are still near.

That’s when I see it.
One star, brighter than the rest. It doesn’t just shine—it speaks. Not with words, but with presence. With love. With recognition.

And in that moment, I know: you are still with me. You know my name, my heart, my grief. The bond we shared hasn’t broken; it’s simply shifted. Instead of wagging tails and warm fur, I feel you in light, in silence, in stars.

People might say it’s coincidence. But I know better. Because when I whisper your name into the night, that star always seems to shimmer a little stronger. As if answering me. As if reminding me that love is eternal, and that you are not gone—you’ve simply moved higher, to a place where I can still find you when I need you most.

Someday, when my journey here is finished, I believe I will follow that star and find you waiting—whole, joyful, tail wagging, eyes bright. Until then, I will keep looking up. Because no matter how dark the night feels, I will always have a star that knows my name.

Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever mine.
