Stacy Friedman is een meisje dat droomt over haar aanstaande  bat mitswa  , inclusief het delen van het moment met haar  BFF  Lydia Rodriguez Katz en het delen van een dansje met haar crush Andy Goldfarb.  Ze botst met haar ouders Bree en Danny over het geven van een ‘perfect’ feest, waarvan ze denkt dat het haar goed zal voorbereiden op haar toekomst, en krijgt steun van haar grote zus Ronnie. Owen Browning (Adam Devine) is een softy bankmanager.  Hij trouwt met vriendin Parker McDermott (Nina Dobrev) ondanks dat zijn ouders (Richard Kind, Julie Hagerty) haar een stripper noemen.  Hij ontmoet haar ouders (Pierce Brosnan, Ellen Barkin) voor het eerst.  Zonder dat hij en Parker het weten, zijn haar ouders een berucht bankovervalteam.  Agent Oldham (Michael Rooker) zit hen obsessief achterna. Ik vind niet alles van Adam Devine leuk, maar ik vind  hem leuk  in deze rol.  Ik hou ervan dat iedereen op het werk hem voor de gek houdt.  Ik hou van hem als het mikpunt van de grap.  Het is zijn beste positie.  Ik vind het leuk dat alle vier de ouders hem kleineren, hoewel ik wil dat ze er meer van do
