When you first left

When you first left, the silence felt unbearable.

No paws racing across the floor.
No tags jingling at the door.
No soft sighs as you curled up at night.

But slowly, I’ve learned that silence isn’t empty.
It holds echoes.
It carries memories.
It wraps me in the love we shared, even if I can’t hear it aloud.

The silence now speaks.
It speaks of loyalty. Of joy. Of years we were blessed to share.
The silence speaks love—
and love never leaves.
