Laura Ingalls Wilder
Laura Ingalls Wilder (1867-1957) is the beloved author behind the iconic Little House series, which has captivated readers for generations. Her books, based on her own childhood growing up in a pioneer family, paint a vivid picture of life on the American frontier in the late 1800s.Born in a small log cabin in Wisconsin, Laura spent much of her early life moving across the Midwest with her family — from Kansas to Minnesota and eventually South Dakota. Her experiences, from harsh winters to building new homes on the prairie, became the heart of her storytelling.
Laura didn’t publish her first Little House book until she was in her 60s, with encouragement from her daughter, Rose Wilder Lane. Together, they transformed her memories into a timeless literary legacy, celebrating family bonds, hard work, and the resilience of pioneers.
