Greek mythology
In Greek mythology, Pandora was the first mortal woman, a woman created by the gods, possibly with the intention of bringing misery to mankind.
Zeus instructed Hephaestus to create a woman from clay, and then Zeus gave life to the creation. Once crafted, Athena clothed the woman, Aphrodite adorned her with grace and beauty, Hermes gave her the ability to speak, while Charites and Horai provided her with beautiful companions.
