OUT OF THE BLUE
"OUT OF THE BLUE" (1947)
MY THOUGHTS: This movie was also new to me, and I'm not sure how I went without ever seeing it up until now, but I think I have a new comedy favorite! I found it to be very funny, in the way that only a solid screwball comedy can be, and thoroughly enjoyable! Credit goes to great writing and an ensemble cast that knows how to use it the right way! The lead roles were very well-played by Mayo, Brent, Bey and Landis; however, a big shout out to Elizabeth Patterson and Julia Dean (as the busy body neighbors), Dick Lane and Howard Negley (as the detective and cop), as well as Ann Dvork (as Olive). They all added a great deal to the movie and are marvelous representations of character actors at their best! If you haven't seen this movie yet, I would highly recommend it. I guarantee you will have a few laughs on Friday!
