Marnie Nixon

This is Marnie Nixon, the great off-stage voice. When Audrey Hepburn opened her mouth to sing in My Fair Lady, Marnie Nixon’s voice came out. When Deborah Kerr sang in The King & I, it was once again Marni. And so forth.

She was denied credit for her role in My Fair Lady and her contract said she could not talk about it. Fans applauded when she won her battle to get royalties from record sales of West Side Story.
However, Marni Nixon never got the just due she deserved - the golden voice of Hollywood was denied credit, notoriety, and possible fortune but true fans will always remember her as one of greatest singers of all time.
