Mary and Elizabeth

 

 On this day ~ 1st July 1536

 Mary and Elizabeth are declared illegitimate 

.
 On 1st July 1536, Parliament declared that Henry VIII’s two daughters, Mary and Elizabeth, were illegitimate.

This now meant that the King had no legitimate heirs..

 For the time being, Henry just had three b@stards ~

Mary from his first wife, Katharine of Aragon.

Henry FitzRoy from his relationship with Bessie Blount.

Elizabeth from second wife, Anne Boleyn.

 The pressure was now on the King’s new wife Jane Seymour, to provide a legitimate heir....
Hopefully a male one.
