Three's a Crowd
April 9, 1985, the final episode of Three's a Crowd aired on ABC. The sitcom premiered on September 25, 1984, as a spin-off of Three's Company, and was loosely based on the British series Robin's Nest.Starring John Ritter as Jack Tripper, the series followed Jack’s new life with Vicky Bradford (Mary Cadorette), who becomes his romantic partner but refuses marriage, leading the two to live together above his restaurant. Conflict came from Vicky’s disapproving father, James Bradford (Robert Mandan), along with supporting characters including E.Z. Taylor (Alan Campbell) and Claudia Bradford (Jessica Walter).
Developed in secrecy during the final season of Three’s Company, the series shifted from the original ensemble format to focus primarily on Jack. Despite moderate ratings, the show struggled against competition from The A-Team and was canceled after one season.
