My Shepherd, my Lord
My Shepherd, my Lord…
You found me in placesI don’t even like to admit I wandered.
Quietly…
not with shame,
not with anger—
but with a voice so steady
it broke through all my noise.
I was running in circles,
calling it freedom,
drinking from empty wells
that only left me thirstier.
And still…
You came.
Not rushing,
not forcing—
just walking beside me
like You knew
I’d eventually look up
and realize
You were the only way home.
My Shepherd,
You didn’t just lead me—
You stayed.
Through valleys
I thought would swallow me whole,
through shadows
that whispered lies louder than truth…
You stayed.
You didn’t leave
when I doubted You.
You didn’t turn away
when I chose everything but You.
You stayed long enough
for my heart to soften,
long enough
for my feet to follow,
long enough
for me to finally understand—
You were never trying to control me…
You were trying to save me.
My Lord,
You carry what I cannot.
You restore what I thought was ruined.
You call me yours
when I know who I’ve been.
And somehow…
that doesn’t make me want to run—
it makes me want to fall at Your feet.
Because You are not just a Shepherd
who leads from a distance…
You are the Shepherd
who lays down in the grass beside me,
who lifts me when I’m too weak to walk,
who knows my name
and still chooses to stay.
My Shepherd…
my Lord…
I am safe with You.
