THE AWFUL TRUTH
"THE AWFUL TRUTH" (1937)
MY THOUGHTS:
I am a fan of both Cary Grant and Irene Dunne individually, but when they work together it is some sort of "magic!" In the four-year span from 1937 to 1941, Irene Dunne & Cary Grant co-starred in three different films, from two different studios, and three different directors. They did Two comedies ("The Awful Truth" and "My Favorite Wife") and one melodrama/romance ("Penny Serenade"). Tonight, I watched "The Awful Truth" and thought it was "awfully good!" I enjoyed seeing them work together. I also liked seeing a young Ralph Bellamy. (I think this is the first film that I have seen him in, as a younger man.) This is a Leo McCarey movie, and he has a special touch. This movie is definitely worth watching!
