Sometimes your kids don’t need you to fix it

Sometimes your kids don’t need you to fix it.

They just need you to feel it with them.

When they say they’re scared, believe them.
When they say they’re sad or overwhelmed, believe them.
You don’t have to solve it or prove anything just be there.

They’re not looking for an investigator.
They’re looking for safety.
For someone to sit in the hard moment and say,
“I know this hurts. I’m right here.”

Choose connection over correction.
Because that’s what they’ll remember
that they weren’t alone in it.
