I didn’t know my heart still had that much room

I didn’t know my heart still had that much room.

After raising my own children,
after years of giving, worrying, sacrificing—
I thought I had already given all the love I had.

I thought I understood what it meant to care deeply.

And then… you came along.

So small.
So full of life.
So completely unaware of how much you would change me.

The first time I held you, something shifted.

Not loudly.
Not dramatically.

Just a quiet realization…
that love doesn’t run out.

It grows.

In ways you don’t expect.
In places you didn’t know were still open.

You didn’t just become my grandchild.

You reminded me that my heart
was never done loving.
