His gravesite at Cimetière de Corsier-sur-Vevey in Vaud, Switzerland, holds a story as dramatic as his life—just three months after his death, his body was stolen by grave robbers who demanded a ransom of $600,000. Thanks to quick police action, his remains were safely recovered and reburied under a concrete slab to prevent further theft.
