Sidney Fox


 Sidney Fox, December 10, 1907, Gallica - November 15, 1942, Los Angeles. Stage actress signed to star in "The Bad Sister" 1931 with Conrad Nagel, Bette Davis, Slim Summerville, Charles Winninger, Humphrey Bogart, Emma Dunn, Bert Roach and David Durand. Among her other films the next year was "Murders in the Rue Morgue" with Bela Lugosi, and "The Mouthpiece" with Warren William, "Once in a Lifetime" with Stuart Erwin and Aline MacMahon in a parody about a Hollywood studio in the transition from silent to sound, and she starred with Eric Linden in "Afraid to Talk" about corrupt politicians. She made six more films, her last was the comedy, "Down to Their Last Yacht" with Mary Boland, Polly Moran, and Ned Sparks. She was found in her bed dead from an overdose of sleeping pills. The 4'11" actress was 34.
