Maggie Smith

Maggie Smith holding up a picture of close friend Alice Ghostley accepting her performance in The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie in 1970, because she was busy playing the title role in Ingmar Bergman's London production of the Henrik Ibsen play Hedda Gabler, Alice worked on Maggie's Broadway debut New Faces of '56, 4 years after being in her own revue New Faces of '52. They remained close until Alice's death in 2007.
