Dolly Rebecca Parton Dean ( geboren Parton ; 19 januari 1946 – 25 augustus 2026)

Een icoon en prachtmens is heengegaan. Wat zij voor de muziek en voor haar medemens heeft betekend is onmeetbaar. Haar muziek sprak mij altijd al aan, maar nog meer sinds ik haar optreden op Glastonbury op televisie zag. Wat een energie straalde die vrouw uit. Jammer genoeg nooit live mogen meemaken. Haar muziek zal ik altijd blijven draaien en met kerst wordt haar fantastische kerstalbum met Kenny Rogers uiteraard weer grijs gedraaid.
Ze was een geweldige persoonlijkheid, het maakte haar niet zoveel uit hoeveel gouden platen ze heeft gewonnen want ze bleef altijd haarzelf. Ze heeft nooit vergeten in welke armoede ze heeft geleefd en bleef trouw aan haar principes. Om dat te kunnen moet je heel sterk zijn.
Ze was al een legende bij leven, en leeft nu voort in menig herinnering. Wat heeft zij ontzettend oprecht veel goeds gedaan voor de medemens. Dolly jij prachtige vrouw rust in vrede.
