Armageddon

The movie revolves around the discovery of a massive asteroid, approximately the size of Texas, heading towards Earth. The impending impact poses an extinction-level threat, prompting NASA to devise a plan to prevent the disaster. NASA enlists the help of oil drillers, led by Harry Stamper (Bruce Willis), to travel to the asteroid, drill into its surface, and implant a nuclear bomb that will split the asteroid in two, diverting its trajectory away from Earth.

As Harry and his team of rough-and-tumble drillers undergo rigorous training to become astronauts, they face personal challenges, conflicts, and the daunting task of saving humanity.

It remains a notable entry in the disaster film genre of the late 1990s.
