You had a baby

 You had a baby.

Your whole world shifted the second they placed that tiny body on your chest.
Your mind changed.
Your heart stretched in ways you didn’t know it could.
Your body carried you through something huge, and it’s still finding its way back.

You’re not supposed to feel like “your old self” right now.
Most moms don’t for a long time.
And that’s okay.
You’re not who you were before. You’re someone new. Someone softer. Someone stronger. Someone who has lived through the kind of love that shakes your life apart and pieces it back together differently.

So be gentle with yourself.
Give yourself grace when the mirror feels unfamiliar
Give yourself patience when the days feel heavy
Give yourself love the same way you give it to your baby

You deserve that softness too.
You matter just as much as the little one you’re taking care of.
