Sometimes we forget
Sometimes we forget that needing us is part of how babies are built. They aren’t supposed to be self-soothing, independent, or “easy.” They’re supposed to reach for us, cling to us, and trust that we’ll show up.
And the goal was never to make them need us less. The goal is to show up for them so consistently that one day they feel steady enough to take those steps on their own.
When you answer their cries, when you hold them a little longer, when you show them that their voice matters…
you’re not “spoiling” them.
You’re wiring their little hearts to believe their world is safe.
And that’s what makes them brave later.
Not being left to figure it out
but being held until they’re ready to let go.
