We teach our kids that their feelings matter
We teach our kids that their feelings matter.
All of them. The big ones that come out of nowhere.
The quiet ones they don’t have words for yet.
The messy ones that make them melt into the floor.
Because every feeling is human.
Every feeling is allowed.
Every feeling deserves a place to land.
But growing up also means learning that what we do with those feelings matters too.
You can be angry, but you can’t hurt people.
You can be sad, but you can’t destroy things around you.
You can feel overwhelmed, but you can’t take it out on someone else.
And that balance the “your feelings are valid” mixed with the “your actions have boundaries” that’s where real emotional safety starts.
It’s not about raising perfect kids.
It’s about raising kids who understand themselves.
Kids who don’t fear their emotions.
Kids who know they’re loved even on their hardest days.
Because when they learn this now, they carry it with them forever.
