No one really tells you that

No one really tells you that being a first-time mom means lying awake at night and not because the baby’s crying, but because you’re staring at them in the dark, making sure their tiny chest is still rising and falling. You check a hundred times. You hold your breath until they take theirs.

You want to sleep, but the love and anxiety hit hard. It’s not being dramatic it’s loving someone so deeply it hurts. The fear, the what-ifs, the overwhelming responsibility it all comes crashing in the quiet hours.

You’re not alone in those 2 a.m. check-ins. That’s motherhood, raw, terrifying, and full of love you never knew existed.
