Desire (1936)
The initial robbery is genius comedy set piece with two characters thinking the other is married to Madeleine de Beaupre (Marlene Dietrich, sporting incredible-looking eyebrows.)
Very clever use of the impending world war in the dialogue with America standing in for Cooper and Europe for Dietrich and John Halliday.
Good stuff, hampered maybe only by being subject to the Code (she must pay for her crimes,) despite which we get near-nudity during the title credits.
With Zeffie Tilbury, (a youngish looking) William Frawley, Ernest Cossart and Akim Tamiroff.
