ALF

March 24, 1990, the final episode of ALF aired on NBC. The series, which premiered on September 22, 1986, followed Gordon Shumway, an alien from the planet Melmac nicknamed ALF ("Alien Life Form"), who crash-lands in the garage of the suburban Tanner family in the San Fernando Valley.

Starring Max Wright as Willie Tanner, Anne Schedeen as Kate Tanner, Andrea Elson as Lynn, Benji Gregory as Brian, and later Charles Nickerson as Eric, the show chronicled ALF’s attempts to adapt to Earth life while hiding from the Alien Task Force. Puppeteer Paul Fusco performed ALF, with Michu Meszaros appearing in full-body shots. Over four seasons and 97 episodes (100 including split hour-long episodes), ALF became a beloved, mischievous part of the Tanner household.

The series ended on a cliffhanger when ALF was captured by the military, a storyline later resolved in the 1996 TV movie Project: ALF. ALF also inspired two animated series (ALF: The Animated Series and ALF Tales) and has remained popular in syndication worldwide, with availability on streaming platforms like Peacock, Tubi, and Freevee.
