LIGHTNING, RAINBOW, DESERT .. ALL IN ONE FRAME
LIGHTNING, RAINBOW, DESERT .. ALL IN ONE FRAMEIt happened in Monument Valley (Arizona–Utah border), right when the storm line split the sky into two worlds: dark rain on one side, warm clearing light on the other.
The rainbow shows up because the Sun is behind the viewer while rain is still falling ahead — sunlight hits the droplets, bounces inside, and separates into color. The lightning comes from the charged heart of the storm cloud, where rising air and ice particles build electricity until it discharges in a single sharp strike.
That’s why this moment feels so rare: the storm is still here… but the light is already returning.
