RAINBOW VORTEX OVER THE PALMS

 RAINBOW VORTEX OVER THE PALMS

For a few seconds, the sky looks like a circular prism—layers of color wrapped into one huge glowing ring, pouring light straight down the boulevard.

What this resembles is a mix of real optical effects: when sunlight hits thin, high ice-crystal clouds, it can split into bands like a circumhorizon arc / iridescent cloud, and if moisture is in the air after rain, you can also catch a rainbow segment. The “vortex” look can happen when multiple layers of cloud + wind shear stack the colors into a spiral-like pattern.
