Richard Dawson
Richard Dawson (1932–2012), born Colin Lionel Emm, a versatile actor, comedian, and game show legend. Dawson gained fame for his role as Corporal Peter Newkirk on Hogan's Heroes and as a regular panelist on the 1970s Match Game. He is perhaps best remembered as the original host of Family Feud, a role he held from 1976 to 1985 and again from 1994 to 1995, where his charm, quick wit, and infamous on-screen kisses made him a household name.Originally from England, Dawson enjoyed success in British television and cinema before moving to Los Angeles, eventually becoming a U.S. citizen in 1984. Beyond game shows, he made guest appearances on series such as Mama’s Family, reuniting with former co-stars in memorable episodes. Dawson passed away on June 2, 2012, from complications of esophageal cancer at age 79. He is interred at Westwood Memorial Park in Los Angeles, leaving behind a legacy of laughter and television history.
