Katharine Alexander
Katharine Alexander was born September 22, 1898 Fort Smith, Arkansas 1/8 Cherokee but never played an Indian in any of the 44 films she appeared in nor any of her many stage appearances. She planned on being a concert violinist but Samuel Goldwyn spotted her and he needed an actress-violinist. Her 44 film credits are between 1930 and 1951. She quit acting after playing Linda Loman in Elia Kazan's production the of "The Death of a Salesman" with Paul Muni which opened in London at The Phoenix Theatre on July 28, 1949. Married to William A. Brady, Jr. from 1926 to his death in 1935. He was the half brother of actress Alice Brady. They had one child, Barbara Alexander Brady, actress.
Katharine Alexander died in Tryon, North Carolina at the age of 82 on February 10, 1981.
