Mitzi Green


 Mitzi Green was born October 22, 1920 and she was soon part of her parents; vaudeville act. She was spotted and signed to Paramount Studios and she made her debut in "Marriage Playground" with Mary Brian, Fredric March, and Lilyan Tashman in 1929 and then "Honey" with Nancy Carroll, Stanley Smith, and Jobyna Rowland. "Paramount on Parade" was the studio's all-star revue and Mitzi showcased her comedic skill and her flair for mimicry. At Paramount, she was in Clara Bow's "Love Among the Millionaires", Jackie Coogan's "Tom Sawyer", the lead in "Finn and Hattie", Jackie Cooper's "Skippy", "newly Rich" with Edna May Oliver and Louise Fazenda", and Coogan's "Huckleberry Finn" before switching to RKO and the lead in "Little Orphan Annie".Her thirties career ended with "Trans-Atlantic-Merry-Go-Round" in 1934. She was growing up and she reemerged as a stage and night club star and only made a few screen appearances in the early 50s; one with Abbott and Costello and a short lived TV show, "So This is Hollywood" in 1955. She married theater director Joseph Peevney in 1942. Mitzi Green died of cancer in Huntington Beach, CA on May 24, 1969. She was 48.
