I will never rush my kids to grow up

I will never rush my kids to grow up.

The world already moves too fast.

They’ll have their whole lives to be busy
To work
To stress
To carry the weight of responsibility

But childhood?
That only happens once.

So if they want to splash in puddles
Or ask me to play one more game
Or need help with the things I know they’ll eventually do on their own
I’m going to say yes

Because I want them to enjoy every second of being little
Of being carefree
Of being exactly who they are right now

Let them be small
Let them take their time
Let them stay in the magic of childhood a little longer

Because once it’s gone
It doesn’t come back

And I refuse to be the reason they felt rushed through it

Let them be little
Let them be free
Let them be kids
For as long as they can be
