THE SUN AND MOON LINED UP IN A PERFECT RAINBOW PATH
THE SUN AND MOON LINED UP IN A PERFECT RAINBOW PATH
For a brief moment, a vertical band of light connecting sunset below to the full Moon above .
This kind of scene can happen when sunlight or moonlight interacts with tiny ice crystals or moisture in the atmosphere, creating light pillars and layered color effects. When the Sun is low and the air is just right, the glow can stretch straight up from the horizon. Add a rising Moon on the same line of sight, and the illusion feels almost unreal ... a bridge of light between two worlds.
You’re most likely to catch sights like this over wide, open horizons near water, where reflections and clear air enhance the effect .. coastlines and open seas such as parts of Maldives, the shores of Morocco, or calm evenings along Indonesia.
