The Stepford Wives (1975)

 The Stepford Wives 1975;

This film in my opinion is a science fiction thriller, or maybe a horror, fantasy.
I Saw this film in the late 70's on cable TV. You must be patient.
This film starts and develops into the point very slow. The Stepford Wives is a perfect very rainy or snowy day kind of film. Where you just sit and watch.
I get why this film is bizarre, errie, and with the very creepy head of the men's Association lead by Patrick O'Neal.
The Stepford Wives was written by Ira Levin, who wrote. The equally creepy Rosemary's Baby 1968; Which also develops in a very similar slow pace.
You had some good performances by Katherine Ross, and Paula Prentiss, oh and of course. Gilligan's Island's Tina Louise as one of the wives. The fictional Connecticut town of Stepford, was base on the real Stamford, Ct.
This film was remade in 2004; As more of a comedy and as it should have been. It would be very difficult in my opinion to try to remake this as a serious drama today.
The Stepford Wives is easily found all over cable, and on ocassions shown on TMC.
Rounding out some of the other cast member
Peter Masterson, William Prince, and Nanette Newman.
Peter Masterson's own daughter Mary Stuart Masterson. Makes her film debut as his daughter in the film. Which starts her very own long theatrical career.
Directed by Bryan Forbes
