Trivia of Vincent Price

Trivia of Vincent Price (27 May 1911 - 25 October 1993)
*Price graduated from Yale University with a degree in English and a minor in Art History. He taught at his alma mater for a year before entering the Courtauld Institute of Art of the University of London. Although he fully intended to study for a master’s degree in Fine Arts, he was drawn to theater and decided to become an actor instead.
*He made his film debut in Service de Luxe (1938), and established himself as actor in the film Laura (1944), opposite Gene Tierney. Vincent Price always considered "Laura" to be the best movie he ever made.
*Price's first venture into the horror genre, for which he later became widely known, was in the Boris Karloff film Tower of London (1939).
*Had appeared in eight horror movies with "house" in the title: The House of the Seven Gables (1940), House of Wax (1953), House on Haunted Hill (1959), The Fall of the House of Usher (1960), La casa de las mil muƱecas (1967), The Hilarious House of Frightenstein (1971), Madhouse (1974) and House of the Long Shadows (1983).
*Loved opera and was an avid gourmet chef, he wrote a number of cookbooks and often used to cook meals for his co stars.
*When asked for his autograph, he would often sign "Dolores Del Rio" instead of his actual name. When once asked why, he replied, in complete seriousness, "I promised her on her deathbed that I would do what I could to keep her name alive!".
*With a voice as iconic and distinctive as Price had, it’s no wonder Disneyland Paris hired him to record narration. He also provided the voiceover for Michael Jackson's song and music video Michael Jackson: Thriller (1983), which became a platinum-selling record.
