Someone said to me the other day
Someone said to me the other day,
“You wouldn’t have any of that if it weren’t for your husband.”And I just blinked. Like… and???
It’s wild how people still think a woman’s entire life is owed to someone else.
Like we don’t work. Like we don’t show up. Like we don’t sacrifice or grind or build alongside the people we love.
Yes, my husband works hard. But so do I.
We both hold things up in different ways. He might clock in early and stay late, but I’m the one making sure everything at home keeps running when he does.
I’m the one raising tiny humans, keeping schedules, managing chaos, paying bills, balancing emotions, making a house feel like home.
It’s not about who earns what. It’s about partnership.
It’s about both people showing up in their own ways and trusting that the other one is doing the same.
You can be grateful for your partner and still proud of yourself.
You can love someone deeply and still know your worth.
Because I’d have a lot less peace, love, and stability if I hadn’t learned how to create it myself.
So yeah I have what I have with my husband, not because of him.
And that’s something people still don’t seem ready to understand.
