Tulip vase
Tulip vase enamelled vase by Camille Fauré embodies the artist's highly unique style. Fauré employs his signature raised enamelling in this vase, which is achieved by applying silver leaf and an enamel paste to a copper base form and “building it” before firing. The copper base and silver leaf give the enamel a luminous quality, making this vase's tulips in varying shades of yellow, red and green all the more vibrant and eye-catching. One of the most celebrated enamelers of the Art Deco era, Fauré was among the most innovative designers of his age. Today, his coveted vases can be found in museum collections around the world, including the Victoria and Albert Museum in London and the Corning Museum of Glass in New York. This vase is pictured in Alberto Shayo's book Camille Fauré Limoges Art Deco Enamels: The Geometry of Joy, page 88. Marked "C. Fauré / Limoges" Circa 1930
