This scene looks unreal

This scene looks unreal because it brings together processes that rarely align in one frame.

The towering storm cloud is a powerful convective system, built by warm, moist air rising rapidly and cooling as it climbs. Inside, ice crystals, rain, and turbulence separate electric charges, setting the stage for lightning—an instant discharge that briefly reveals the inner architecture of the cloud.

Above it, the rainbow forms quietly and precisely. Sunlight, entering countless raindrops at just the right angle, slows, bends, reflects, and splits into its spectrum. Each color leaves the drop at a fixed angle, stacking light into a curved arc that exists only for the observer standing in the perfect place.
