Circles of light formed along the horizon
As the Sun dropped into the sea, thin layers of moisture and temperature differences in the air bent the light into repeating rings. Each layer refracts and reflects sunlight slightly differently, stacking glowing halos outward from the source. The clouds in front add contrast, making the pattern resemble ripples across the sky.
This is an atmospheric optical effect caused by light refraction through layered air and fine droplets, sometimes enhanced by camera optics that exaggerate the symmetry. The geometry comes from physical conditions ... the lens helps reveal the pattern.
