In your last moments

In your last moments, I held your paw and told you everything I needed you to know. I pressed my lips to your head, trying to hold myself together — but I was quietly falling apart inside.

You were never just my pet. You were my person. My comfort. My family. The kind of love that doesn't come with an explanation — it just is.

Thank you for staying as long as you did. Thank you for loving me the way only you knew how — fully, quietly, without condition. I will carry that love in me for the rest of my days. Every single one.
