Hachikō
This is the final photograph of Hachikō, a Japanese Akita dog, renowned for his unwavering loyalty to his owner.
Hachikō belonged to Professor Eizaburo Ueno, a resident of Shibuya and a faculty member at the Imperial University of Tokyo in the early 1920s.
Every day, Ueno would walk with Hachikō to the Shibuya station and board the train to work.
Upon completing his work, he would take the train back, arriving precisely at 3 PM at the station. Hachikō was always there, patiently waiting to accompany the professor home.
One day, Ueno suffered a stroke and never arrived at the station again. Hachikō continued to go to the station every day for 9 years until his death in 1935.
