Michael Landon, as Charles Ingalls, was the moral and emotional anchor of Walnut Grove — a man of hard work, deep faith, and unwavering love for his family and neighbors.

Richard Bull gave quiet strength and warmth to Nels Oleson, the kind storekeeper with a gentle wit, who managed both his business and his challenging home life with grace. Karl Swenson played Lars Hanson, the wise and generous town founder, whose vision and integrity helped shape the very soul of Walnut Grove.

Wayne Heffley appeared as Mr. Kennedy, offering a strong, steady presence in the community’s daily life. At the front of the group, Jonathan Gilbert as Willie Oleson brought mischievous charm and comic relief, his boyish antics adding levity to the series' emotional depth.
