I never want

I never want my kids to grow up thinking their emotions are something to hide.

That their tears are weakness.
That their anger makes them “too much.”
That their sadness should be tucked away because it makes people uncomfortable.

I want them to know every single feeling is a message from their heart.
That it’s okay to pause and ask themselves, What do I need right now?
That they’re allowed to take up space, to rest, to cry, to laugh too loud.

And when the world doesn’t offer them kindness or validation, I want them to already know how to offer it to themselves.

Because emotions aren’t bad.
They’re human.
And I want them to grow up knowing their humanness is never too much.
