Danny Thomas (1912–1991), born Amos Muzyad Yakhoob Kairouz, a pioneering entertainer and philanthropist whose legacy continues to inspire. Thomas began his film career in 1947, starring opposite Margaret O’Brien in The Unfinished Dance and Big City. He achieved lasting fame as the star of the beloved television sitcom Make Room for Daddy (also known as The Danny Thomas Show, 1953–1964), playing the lead role of Danny Williams.

Thomas passed away from heart failure on February 6, 1991, at the age of 79. He is interred in a mausoleum on the grounds of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
