To my daughter

 To my daughter,

You came into my life and rewrote everything I thought I knew about love.
You didn’t just give me a new title
You gave me a new heart.

You showed me that strength can be quiet and gentle
That beauty lives in scraped knees and messy ponytails
That love isn’t something you say once
It’s something you pour into every little moment

You made me see the world in softer colors
You made me brave in ways I never knew I could be
You made me believe in the power of girlhood and grace

You are not just my daughter
You are the reason I stand taller and love deeper
And for that I’ll love you forever and then some
