Norma Talmadge
Norma Talmadge, May 2, 1894, Jersey City, NJ - December 24, 1957, Las Vegas, NV. Eldest of three daughters to Frederick and Margaret "Peg" Talmadge. Her sister, Constance was also a popular film star specializing in comedies while Norma was a dramatic actress. Their younger sister, Natalie, was once married to Buster Keaton with whom she had two sons.
Norma began in films in 1910 and she married the much older producer, Joseph M. Schenck and they formed the Norma Talmadge Film Corporation. She made her films in New York and relocated to Los Angeles in the early 1920s. Among her available films are "Going Straight" 1916, "The Social Secretary" 1918, "The Children in the House" 1918,"The Forbidden City" 1918, "The Safety Curtain" 1918,"The Passion Flower" 1921, "Smilin' Through" 1922, "Within the Law" 1923, "Ashes of Vengeance" 1923, "The Song of Love" 1923, "Kiki" 1926, "The Woman Disputed" 1928, "New York Nights" 1929, "Du Barry, Woman of Passion" 1930.
She was married to George Jessel in the 1930s and she appeared on his radio show, but it did not bring about a demand for her to return to films. She married a third time in 1949. She had no children.
