Aline MacMahon
Aline MacMahon, May 3, 1899, McKeesport, PA - October 12, 1991, New York, NY. She began her film career in 1931 appearing as Edward G. Robinson's secretary in the brilliant "Five Star Final". This lead to several great film roles such as "The Mouthpiece" 1932 with Warren William, "Life Begins" 1932 with Loretta Young and Eric Linden, "Once in a Lifetime"1932 with Jack Oakie and Sidney Fox, "One Way Passage" 1932 with William, Powell and Kay Francis, "Silver Dollar" 1932 with Edward G. Robinson, "Gold Diggers of 1933" with Ruby Keeler, Ginger Rogers, Una Merkel, Guy Kibbee, "The Life of Jimmie Dolan" 1933 with Douglas Fairbanks Jr. and Loretta Young, "Heroes for Sale" 1933 Richard Barthelmess and Loretta Young, "The World Changes" 1934 Paul Muni and Mary Astor, "Heat Lightning" 1934 with Ann Dvorak and Preston Foster, "Side Streets" 1934 with Paul Kelly and Ann Dvorak, "babbitt" 1934 with Guy Kibbee and Patricia Ellis, "While the Patient Slept" 1935 with Guy Kibbee and Lyle Talbot, "Ah! Aline MacMahon was a very versatile actress and after the 1939s, she went back to doing live theater and she divided her time to stage and films. She was married to Clarence S. Stein from 1928 to his death in 1975.
