No one really talks about

No one really talks about how emotional it is to wean your baby.

You spend so many nights dreaming of the day your body gets to be yours again.
You tell yourself you’ll be so relieved when the feeds slow down, when the cries for comfort aren’t always tied to your chest.

And then one day, without even realizing it, you have your last feed.
And it’s quiet.
There’s no big moment.
No announcement.
Just a shift.
And suddenly, it’s over.

You feel proud of how far you’ve come.
You feel free in a way.
But you also feel like you’re saying goodbye to something sacred.
Something only you and your baby shared.

Weaning is one of those silent goodbyes in motherhood that no one prepares you for.
So if you're in it, or nearing it, hold your baby close.
Soak it all in.
Even the hard moments.
Because they are so, so temporary.
