LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS

 "LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS"  (1986)

MY THOUGHTS:
If you are looking for some "eclipse-themed" entertainment during the weekend, or on Monday for the actual event, this movie is a solid option. Its tie-in to an eclipse happens very early in the film, setting up a very unique and highly entertaining story, which is told in song, and through exceptional performances, by its very talented cast! (Its songs are memorable, catchy and, sometimes, heartbreaking.) It is a movie that the whole family can enjoy together!

SYNOPSIS:
"Meek flower shop assistant Seymour pines for co-worker Audrey. During a total eclipse, he discovers an unusual plant he names Audrey II, which feeds only on human flesh and blood. The growing plant attracts a great deal of business for the previously struggling store. After Seymour feeds Audrey's boyfriend, Orin, to the plant after Orin's accidental death, he must come up with more bodies for the increasingly bloodthirsty plant."

STARRING:
Rick Moranis, Ellen Greene, Steve Martin, Miriam Margoyles, Christopher Guest, Jim Belushi, Bill Murray, Tisha Campbell, John Candy and Vincent Gardenia

SCREENPLAY:
Frank Oz and Howard Ashman, based on a story by Howard Ashman, Roger Corman and Charles B. Griffith.

Miles Goodman

Frank Oz
