They tell you postpartum is six weeks

They tell you postpartum is six weeks.

Six weeks until you’re “healed.”
Six weeks until you’re “back to normal.”
Six weeks until you’re “yourself” again.

But no one talks about how postpartum can be months… or even years.
How your body still feels different long after the stitches heal.
How your hormones still swing.
How your mind still struggles to catch up with everything you’ve been through.
How you’re still learning to love the person you’ve become.

For some, postpartum is the rest of our lives because we will never be the woman we were before motherhood.
And maybe that’s not something to “get over.”
Maybe that’s something to grow into.
