L.G. Bigelow

Most of the information is missing from this photo, which was taken by L.G. Bigelow possibly sometime between 1900 and 1920.
The accompanying information says it's a "View of Miss Allicott of the Salish mounted on horse with decorated tack. Allicott [possibly Ollicut?] wears medallion earrings, bracelets, an elk tooth dress, and has a blanket across her waist. Her horse wears a breast collar with a heart and flower design. A man on horseback is partially visible at left."
What we do know, however, is that the elk tooth dress - decorated with ivory elk canine teeth - were highly prized by both Native Americans and European settlers. The horse's breast collar also is amazing!
