What you’re seeing here is not a mystical glow

What you’re seeing here is not a mystical glow, but an optical atmospheric phenomenon.

The circular ring around the Sun is a 22° solar halo, formed when sunlight passes through millions of hexagonal ice crystals suspended in high-altitude cirrostratus clouds. As light enters and exits these crystals, it is refracted at a fixed angle, separating wavelengths and producing a faint rainbow-like ring.

The Sun’s alignment with the pyramid is a perspective coincidence from the observer’s viewpoint—not a physical interaction—but it powerfully illustrates how geometry, optics, and atmospheric conditions can combine to create striking visual symmetry.
